We’re super excited to partner with Magdalena Boufal-Nistico of Mekunia for our April Session! The sun is starting to shine on us all a little more, the weather is heating up little by little, and we’ve got our eyes on a special night out now that we don’t feel like hibernating anymore. Having a night out requires an equally special accessory to make us feel our most amazing.
At this Session, Makers will learn how to saddle stitch a 4” x 8” black clutch, and will be able to personalize the details with colorful embellishments to make it their own. Choose from various color snaps and leather remnants to add personal touches and swag to your bag, including tassels, etc.!!
More about Magdelena of Mekunia…
I was born in Warsaw, Poland. I moved to the States when I was little and lived in Philadelphia for over 27 years before moving to Collingswood. I’ve always loved art and fashion...but my academic background lead me to a career in psychology, for which I acquired two Masters (in Psychology and in Art Therapy). I worked over a decade helping children to better express themselves through art and play. After becoming a mom, I needed a change in my schedule. I was fortunate to have the support to take time off and create my own art. My new path organically lead me to work leather as a medium, and I began experimenting with it using different techniques in non traditional ways (silkscreening, stenciling, and photo transfer techniques). It was then that I began creating leather jewelry/accessories, and formed my company “Mekunia”.
